Google Glass may have been a failure, but Google does not think forgo augmented reality glasses. After a recent discovery FCC filing, 9to5Google has revealed details of the next version of Google Glass, which reportedly could be designed for applications in the field of business, unlike the general consumer use.
Called "Enterprise Edition" (the first generation was called "Explorer Edition"), it is said that updating Google Glass will have a screen larger prism, an Intel Atom processor (the first model of CPU that was made by Texas Instruments) it will be faster than existing in the Android smartwatches Wear, and better battery life. The report also says that Google is experimenting with an external battery that connects to the new Google Glass to extend the life of it.Meanwhile, Google seems to have addressed the problems of heat that the Explorer edition suffered, and the new model will be cooler. Other than that, the only other specification that the report cites is the super fast Wi-Fi with support 802.11ac Dual Band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless channels. The support 5GHz allow users to play faster the videos.Glass users have complained of eyestrain related to the constant looking up and right on the screen of the prism. A screen prism with a larger vision would make the display more visible in peripheral vision and could possibly reduce eyestrain. It orienting Google Glass to business customers rather than ordinary consumers would be a complete change in the strategy of Google, but it would be a smart tactic. Since the applications most successful Glass are designed for law and order medical enterprise applications, you can finish better served as a built for more specialized use cases rather than, for example, play virtual tennis product.
